Continuing on from the famed Daiwa Saltiga Star Drag, the Saltist Star Drag is based on the same bulletproof body but die-cast instead of forged. Constructed of aluminium and anodised for maximum corrosion resistance, the Saltist Star Drag is designed to handle whatever treatment the corrosive marine environment has to throw at it.

The Saltist Star Drag’s internals are equally made to last and perform thanks to Daiwa’s famous Digigear gear technology. Digigear features a digitised, high precision cutting technique that achieves perfect gear meshing and ultra smooth performance. Made from a new-age alloy, Digigear is ultra strong, corrosion resistant, and lighter than any gear that Daiwa have developed before. This reduction in weight allows larger gears to be used, in-turn achieving greater gear and reel durability and providing superior gear performance, strength and precision.

Featuring stainless steel ball bearings for maximum corrosion resistance, and a centrifugal braking system for effortless, user-friendly casting adjustment and control, the Saltist Star Drag’s casting performance is stunning to say the least with its true freespool feature allowing long effortless casts regardless of the conditions or the angler.

This uninhibited spool design allows for effortless line payout, making the Saltist Star Drag perfect for techniques and fishing styles such as live baiting and float lining.

ATD-DRAG
Daiwa’s Automatic Tournament Drag uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest, yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag start up. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD Drag System results in a smoother drag from the initial hook up.

CENTRIFUGAL BRAKE
A system that utilizes the friction of brake blocks pressed inside in a brake ring. The brake force is proportional to the rotational speed of the spool. This means when spool speed is fast, brake force is much larger.

CLICKING DRAG
A drag system that produces a clicking sound when a fish runs and takes drag.

CRBB
Lasting 12 times longer than standard stainless steel bearings Daiwa’s CRBBs feature specially treated stainless steel, and a protective shield on the bearing race that seals out sand, fine grit, salt crystals and other abrasives. The result is a longer lasting bearing that’s protected from the corrosive elements that destroy traditional bearings.

DIGIGEAR-II
More refined and precision designed than Digigear I, Digigear II involves a high precision machine cut and digitally design gears and feature a surface treated ultra-tough alloy drive gear and marine bronze pinion gear, designed to mesh together perfectly for optimized speed, power and durability.

EVA KNOB
Delivered enhanced angler comfort and contact, EVA knobs provide optimum contact in wet conditions.

INFINITE ANTI REVERSE
Daiwa’s advanced system that limits rearward backplay handle movement to almost zero for solid hooksets with less shock to the reel. The result is the elimination of handle slap-back and the unwanted release of line.

SUPER METAL BODY
Daiwa’s super aluminium alloy that allows the creation of a reel body that is four times more precise than a machined magnesium body, and with greater corrosion resistance.
