Daiwa 21 Certate SW Spinning Reel 10000-H

For many inshore & light tackle anglers across Australia, Daiwa’s Certate reel has been the gold-standard of compact but strong spinning reel design. Now in 2021, Certate SW continues that tradition, evolving Certate into a realm of its own. Now available up to an 18000-size, Certate is ready to tackle all species from fresh to salt across the globe.

Replacing the long-standing Catalina, Certate SW shares it’s Monocoque (MQ) body with the famous 20 Saltiga. The single-piece body removes the requirement of a traditional side plate and screw system, replacing that with an engine plate that houses the incredibly large G1 Duralumin drive gear, also shared with the 20 Saltiga. This body & gear combination was what put 20 Saltiga on the map and is sure to set Certate SW right at the top of the tree when it comes to strength and power.

Equipped with Daiwa’s ZAION rotor design, Certate SW is lightweight and strong. ZAION’s lightweight construction makes the rotation of Certate SW incredibly light & responsive and also delivers an end result of up to 40 grams of weight saving when compared to 20 SALTIGA.

Certate SW comes equipped with a Magseal line roller and Magseal body, which combined with the MQ construction means that Certate SW is supremely well sealed to the elements, giving anglers the confidence that Certate SW will not let them down.

Sharing the same redesigned drag as 20 SALTIGA, Certate SW’s multi-layer carbon drag delivers ten times increased drag durability compared to 16 Catalina. The new washer design combined with the aluminium radiation drag knob increases heat dissipation improving drag performance under heavy load.

High-speed models come equipped with a soft-touch hi-grip egg-shaped knob which delivers grip and comfort for the sweeping motions of working a surface lure. Slow speed models have an EVA Power Round Knob suitable for the up & down working of vertical jigs.

Certate SW has been redesigned and redeveloped combining the best parts of the 19 Certate LT and 20 SALTIGA to produce one of the most exciting reel releases in years.

ABS-LONGCAST – Compared to conventional spools, the LC-ABS has been shown to increase the average flight distance by approx. 5% due to its reduced weight and modified shape.

AIR-BAIL – Daiwa’s innovative bail design features a hollow tubular stainless steel bail that delivers maximum rigidity and strength with minimum weight. Featuring a smooth protrusion-free design and construction line easily slides unencumbered along the Air Bail towards the line roller for trouble free line control.

AIR-ROTOR – Lighter, stronger and more balanced than any rotor system that’s come before, ‘Air Rotor’ delivers a great leap forward in rotor design and function and delivers the ultimate line roller support. Made from Zaion and featuring a redesigned arch that disperses pressure to the lower section of the rotor to reduce stressing and flexing, the design is further enhanced with a hollowed out construction reducing weight, while increasing reel sensitivity and rotational balance.

CRBB – Lasting 12 times longer than standard stainless steel bearings Daiwa’s CRBBs feature specially treated stainless steel, and a protective shield on the bearing race that seals out sand, fine grit, salt crystals and other abrasives. The result is a longer lasting bearing that’s protected from the corrosive elements that destroy traditional bearings.

EVA KNOB – Delivered enhanced angler comfort and contact, EVA knobs provide optimum contact in wet conditions.

INFINITE ANTI REVERSE – Daiwa’s advanced system that limits rearward backplay handle movement to almost zero for solid hooksets with less shock to the reel. The result is the elimination of handle slap-back and the unwanted release of line.

MAGSEALED-BODY – Ultimate protection is delivered to the engine room of the reel with a magnetised oil seal located on the main shaft of the reel’s rotor shutting the door to the elements and unwanted intruders. Dust, water, and salt intrusion into the inner workings of a reel are a thing of the past with MagSeal.

MAGSEALED LINE ROLLER – One of the hardest working and exposed areas of a spin reel is provided with ultimate protection with a MagSealed line roller bearing shutting out the elements for optimum line roller protection, performance and longevity.

SILENT OSCILLATION – Silent Oscillation combines Digigear drive technology with dampening washes for noise free operation. Increased durability, and a reduction in reel noise are all achieved with Silent Oscillation.

MONOCOQUE (MQ) – MQ Body takes reel design to the next level. The MQ system does not require conventional side plate, instead using an engine plate to screw directly to the body. Eliminating the need for screws to hold a body cover in place. MQ body improves the strength of the reel, it also improves the water-resistance of the body and allows a larger diameter drive gear to be installed.

G1 DURALUMIN DRIVE GEAR – The larger diameter drive gear. Increasing the diameter by 12% and also increasing thickness reduces the amount of wear, including twist and deformation to both the drive & pinion gears. In comparison to 15 Saltiga, it is more than double the strength. New gear design combined with MQ body makes 20 Saltiga the pinnacle of saltwater spinning reels.
