A baitcaster reel developed for long-casting performance with braided lines, HRF PE Special combines a special PE tuned Magforce Z cast control system with Daiwa’s famous TWS system for unparalleled casting performance.

No one-trick pony, the new HRF PE SPECIAL is equal parts strong as it is refined, with a heavy-duty brass drive gear making this reel fit for purpose in Australia’s north. A high-speed PE tuned level wind is specifically made to lay lighter braided line evenly, avoiding line dig and preventing untimely breakoffs.

A waterproof ATD carbon 3-layer drag dishes out 5.5kg of consistent smooth max drag performance. Fitted with a rubber gasket adorning the top of the stack, ATD eliminates water intrusion into the drag and significantly improves drag durability.

A newly designed 150 size Duralumin spool is equipped into a compact 100 size frame, maximising line capacity without increasing size and weight.

ATD-DRAG – Daiwa’s Automatic Tournament Drag uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest, yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag start up. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD Drag System results in a smoother drag from the initial hook up.

CLICKING DRAG – A drag system that produces a clicking sound when a fish runs and takes drag.

CRBB – Lasting 12 times longer than standard stainless steel bearings Daiwa’s CRBBs feature specially treated stainless steel, and a protective shield on the bearing race that seals out sand, fine grit, salt crystals and other abrasives. The result is a longer lasting bearing that’s protected from the corrosive elements that destroy traditional bearings.

EVA KNOB – Delivered enhanced angler comfort and contact, EVA knobs provide optimum contact in wet conditions.

MAGFORCE Z – The next generation of Daiwa’s magnetic anti-backlash system like Magforce V before it combines the best aspects of modern magnetic and centrifugal breaking, albeit with some slight differences. Unlike Magforce V magnetic braking is only applied at maximum spool speed, as a result it allows the spool to reach a higher peak speed and allows it to spin for longer. Magforce Z is considered to be best suited to longer casting pursuits and heavier weights.

SPOOL SHAFT – The centre pin of a baitcaster spool that extends into and engages with the pinion gear.

TWS -Daiwa’s revolutionary T-Wing System addresses the issue of traditional line guide/level wind systems constricting line flow by delivering a T-shaped line guide that is larger, wider and less restrictive. TWS allows line to exit freely from the spool with minimal line angle, minimal friction and constriction, thereby reducing line noise and backlash, and delivering more accurate and longer casts.
